I like that this book is set in the 1950’s and describes adventures in Colorado. I’ll look into this one.

I was already looking forward to reading the book based on the sample provided on Amazon, but this review has really increased my interest. I'm always fascinated by books that have educational components built into the story, but it's rare to find a fiction book that can incorporate lessons like these without decreasing the excitement of the fictional story. Thank you for giving me something else to look forward to while reading this book!

Then author takes the reader on an adventurous journey through Danny Gray's life. Well written, very descriptive detail and rich vocabulary is worth picking up this book. Great job...

This sounds like a great book for anyone looking for adventure, and it's also a great source of information about the fauna and flora of Colorado. The ghost train sounds most intriguing.

The natural beauty of Colorado is stunning, to say the least. The author's choice for an outdoor adventure for three siblings couldn't be better. Good review.

Stories of the West invoke images of mountains, rivers, and adventures in the great outdoors. The description of the Colorado backdrop specifically is reminiscent of some of the songs and stories of John Denver and other western town narratives, especially during this time period. The boyhood adventures of Danny Gray resemble those that are experienced by many prepubescent youths in the great wild west wilderness as they cut their teeth on an education paved with mountain peaks, cold river streams and dusty trails that lead to euphoric destinations that would shape their young lives. Contrary to the technology that shapes today’s youth these children were taught the ways of the outdoors and those great tenants of the knowledge of nature. While this is a work of fiction, based upon the review this novel could easily be a work of memoir as well. Thank you for your insights.

I find it curious that this is a combination of non-fiction and fiction (i.e. a fictional story with real facts and history). The variety of stories and writings make this a unique book, and hopefully the stories are interesting in and of themselves. I definitely like the Colorado Rockies as a backdrop for the narrative. Great review.
