I've read the book named Backcomb & Tattoo, written by Shea R.Embry.

The book is about the lives of four very differents ladies, who will unexpectedly become best friends.

The first girl that we are going to meet during the reading is Rachel, a designer married to a famous singer. Rachel's marriage is not very happy, beacause her husband is never around when she needs him, not even when her mother gets sick with cancer.
During a dinner at her neighbour's house, Rachel meets a lovable old lady, who likes to be called Aunt Mary Opal. The two ladies get on well very quickly and Rachel founds out that the old lady's husband, who died some years earlier, worked for CIA.
Another girl will join the two women's special friendship, Jesi. She meets Rachel during an holiday in Seville, and they found out that they both are from Atlanta. Jesi is a free spirit, always impatient, who has difficulties in having a serious relationship.
The last girl that joins the group is the troubled Nicole, who will literally be saved by this friendship.

I really enjoyed the book, because it deals with serious themes such as cancer, death, abusive relationships, suicide with great gentleness and alternate touching moments with hilarious ones.

I give the book 4 out of 4 stars because i think that it is perfectly edited and the plot is really enjoyable.

I think that the perfect audience for this book are women older than 14, because it will be appreciated equally by young girls and old ladies. I don't think that most men would enjoy the book because all the main characters are women. Indeed the only thing I didn't like about this book was the lack of positive male figures, however that's just my opinion and the book is anyway awesome.

The book brings a wonderful example of how friends can help us through hard times and it shows how a real and deep friendship should be and how it shouldn't be, teaching us not to accept situations that will hurt our feelings. Moreover it shows that it doesn't matter the age or the character of our friends, as long as they are there to support us when we need them. I really appreciate the message of the book and I absolutely recommend it.
