My name was Bert by LeAnn Perman

I received an online version of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I give this book four out of five stars.

Theme: Children / Animals / Fiction

Summery: A delightful short story about a rottweiler called Bertha, who lives an ideal dogs life with Jo and Hank on a ranch close to Yosemite National Park, but tragedy strikes the ranch Bertha is forced to survive on nothing but her instincts. Will she survive and find her way home?

A wonderful and very emotional story with great descriptions written from the point of view of a 2 year old rottweiler who lives on a ranch close to Yosemite National Park. The book is probably aimed at children who are old enough to listen to stories with no pictures or illustrations, the chapters are short which makes the book easy to pick up or put down. With some children the reader might even finish the book in one sitting.

There are a couple of minor misspelt words but nothing too bad. Otherwise it is well written, with the story being fast paced at times and maybe even scary for some younger audiences. There is some very good imagination from the author who is obviously a dog lover because of the point of view.
My favourite part of the book was the ending, not what I was expecting but a good ending all the same.

Anybody who is an animal lover, specially a dog lover would enjoy this book. It might produce a few tears though maybe from sadness or maybe from happiness.

I would recommend a price of 0.99 for an ebook copy as the book is short and can be finished in one sitting. I would recommend this book to a friend who has children around 6-8 years of age, specially girls.

My Name is Bert is a wonderful story that made me laugh and cry. It is a touching story of the loyalty between a dog and its owners. This is a great read for children from 7 to probably 13 years old.
