Man Mission starts off right in the action and draws you in. I was not sure how much I would like this book, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it. The book starts off with 4 college guys talking about their dreams of exotic trips. While we never learn the main characters name, the author does a good job of connecting us with his life. Soon we follow two of the guys on their first ever "Man Mission." The main character and Sam trek across New Zealand. While we follow them, we learn about their lives and poor planning decisions.

Daniel joins the duo for man mission three. It turns out that Daniel is a much better planner and helps bring the man missions to an even higher standard. Then finally on man mission four, Alec joins. With the group complete, they start going on some of the most epic adventures. We go with them to Australia, North Korea, Fiji, Hawaii and many other exotic lands. We also learn about each mans life, from dating to marriage, from jobs to business owner. All four men bring a new perspective to the group.

I felt the author Eytan Uliel, did a great job of making each site that the men visited come to life. I felt like I was on those trips with them. I could see what they saw and feel the way they felt. We got to visit some of the most remote places in the world with them and meet some exciting people on the way. No matter what man mission they were on, something always happened. Either one of the men got hurt, mostly our lovable main character or some other crazy event.

I really liked how Uliel kept the book interesting, at times I could not put it down. I liked the sarcastic and humor tone while touching on personal issues. I connected with this book on a personal level. The main character struggles with the everyday balance of life and work, something most people can relate to. It also touches on the trouble with being open to people, even your best friends. Our main character always thought that Sam and Daniel had the perfect lives and everything in order, he learns he is not alone in feeling a bit lost.

I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I really enjoyed how the details of the story came to life, I want to visit some of these places now and see the beauty that the four men did. I also enjoyed how personal at times the book was, hitting on subjects not everyone likes to talk about but in a good-natured way. I recommend reading it.
