By the age 45 some men have children going off to college, Roger has 125 children going to high school. Other men go home to a wife, Roger sometimes goes home to an empty house, and sometimes he goes to the kiosk to sell whatever products they have. If lucky, a few men meet their soul mates and spend the rest of their lives with them, Roger was lucky once.

The 11:15 Bench by Paul Kijinski is the story of Roger Jakubiak, who met Regina Tucci when they were 17 years old. They spent years as a couple and it looked like they were going to be together forever, but an unfortunate incident tears them apart.

This book is entertaining and sad at the same time and when a book brings out two conflicting emotions then it sure is going to be a memorable one.

What I liked about this book:

1. The characters. They were unique, funny and I enjoyed the four hours or so that I spent with them. I even liked the antagonist in the book, maybe because she wasn't really bad in the whole book, just a part. I liked Gary the best, he’s the best friend and he’s wise even when he was still young.

2. The lesson. Somebody said that we would regret the things we haven’t done instead of the things we have. This book reinforced that lesson, I don’t want to reach Roger’s age and have only regret to show for it. I also learned that it is never too late. This book is just full of wisdom.

3. The unpredictability. Throughout the book, I was speculating how this book would end. Will Roger end up with Regina? Do I even want them to end up together? But now that I have finished the book, I am very satisfied with it.

4. The title. If one hasn't read the book, the title will seem like nothing, but having finished this book I think that it was very romantic.

There is nothing that I didn't like about this book, having said that I am giving this book 3 out of 4 stars. I would even give it a 3.5, if that was allowed. I totally recommend this to everyone who likes to read.
