The title of the novel that I am reviewing today is Provoked to Anger written by Cheray Gardison. The story is about two teenagers being raised by single mothers and the struggles they face in their day to day lives. A girl named Marissa and her friend/lover named Jeremy. The unfortunate events in their lives left me teary eyed and grateful. Death, verbal, physical and sexual abuse are spoken of as well as kidnapping, suicide and sex trafficking. It was a pleasure reading this novel it was able to grab my attention from the very first page and held on to me until the very end.

The story was both intriguing and thought provoking I believe it would appeal to teenagers, young adults and/or parents. I would not recommend this book for children due to some adult content and language. The events that take place are extremely sad but they are real life situations that have been brought to the light. Parents and teenagers can learn from reading this book. Lessons are taught lives can be changed.

Although Cheray Gardison is a Christian writer I would not consider Provoked to Anger a Christian novel. I say this because of a few explicit words and scenes. On page 29 the word ass was used a couple of times. A few other explicit words are used throughout the book and some sexual content. I did enjoy the addition of religion and spirituality to the story, it will give some much needed healing. On the other hand I couldn't picture my Christian grandmother reading this one.

I did not notice any typos, errors in spelling or grammar. The book appears to be very well edited. It was both well edited and well written. It was an easy read not too complicated not too long and drawn out. In my opinion it was written perfectly.

I would rate Provoked to Anger a 4 out of 4 stars. What I liked most is although it is a fiction novel the things that occur are realistic. These things are going on in our homes, neighbors homes to our families and/or friends. If I could change anything it would be the end I would have liked to have seen an epilogue. I felt as if I was part of the story and am curious to know where everyone ends up in a few years. I look forward to reading more from this author , a part two would be nice!
