Post by summer101331 »

MEET CELAENA SARDOTHIEN. BEAUTIFUL.DEADLY.DESTINED FOR GREATNESS.

in the dark filthy salt mines of Endovier, an eighteen year old girl is serving a life sentence.
She is a trained assassin, the best of her kind. but she made a fatal mistake. She got caught.

I recently read the book 'Throne Of Glass'. it blew me away. i had initially picked it up as i though it would be something nice to read on the bus to and back from school. simply to pass the time. what i didn't expect was to be drawn in from the first sentence. The story is about an 18 year old assassin who broke the one rule of being an assassin. She got caught. We follow Calaena as she struggles to deal with her inner turmoil at serving the king who destroyed everything dear to her and her freedom. Sarah j. Maas did an amazing job in describing her character. Celaena is portrayed as this fierce heartless killer at the start of the book but we slowly learn that she is this kindhearted, deeply scared both physically and mentally. we never truly learn of her past in this book but we get little glimpses of the horror she endured while she was still young.

After being caught Celaena Sardothien, Adarlans most notorious assassin, is thrown in the salt mines of Endovier where she is kept a prisoner for 11 months. When offered the chance at freedom she jumps at the chance but at what cost. She watches as rebels are slaughtered and killed under the kings orders simply for doing what everyone else should be doing instead of staying under the rule of evil king. Could she really serve, kill under the same king who destroyed her very innocence. When The crown prince, Dorian makes her his champion, she has to fight for the chance at her freedom. She must compete through several rounds in a to-the-death tournament- which meant fighting the most gifted thieves and assassins in the land. She knows she would win, she never doubts her abilities until people start dropping dead. She finds out the disturbing secret about why the champions are dropping dead and how it connects to her. guided by a dead queen and the help of a foreign princess, Celaena fights to stop the darkness consuming the castle. But at what cost. in fighting and winning she would be signing her soul to the only man who made her feel small in a world where danger lies for four years.Fighting and losing she would be thrown back to Endovier and away from the three people shes come to care for. will she come out of it, intact?

I loved this book! It was one of the best ones I have read in awhile and will probably reread it again in awhile, especially before the third one comes out next year.
