Guardian of Deceit by William H. Coles is a complex story that illustrates the meaning of a family and the essence of being a part of a family. It discusses expectations, explorations in life. This book happens to be the second book that I have read from the same author. It is somewhat similar to the tone of the previous book I read written by him. Cole lets you divulge into an account that brings out the best and the worst in people.

The following book is about a young man named Darwin, a teenager who has been an orphaned for many years. Darwin was sent to live with his Uncle Luther after his aunt became ill. Luther is a well-known footballer with behavior issues. Luther finds Darwin as a load and treats him poorly, something that I found very horrifying. Darwin meets Dr. Malverne as he heads to live with Luther on a plane. Darwin learns that you meet great people in the most unexpected places and can have an impact on your existence. Dr. Malverne becomes Darwin’s mentor and later becomes an integral part of his future in both good and bad ways.

This book is the story of a boy who grows into a man while facing extreme situations. Trying to live in this world, the worst of things happen to him. Even with being born in a wealthy background, Darwin forced to live a life beneath basic standards. He lives in the world all alone, not knowing whom he can trust, who is out there looking for him or not. As he grows up, poor examples of love and relationships keep flashing in front of him. This experience influences his love life to a great extent.

William H. Coles has won my heart with this book. The book spans from 15 to 18 years. The author brings out the authenticity of relationships and friendships with this book. With this, the book feels more realistic as I was able to relate to many incidents taking place in this book. We all know strong bonds take many years to build, grow, and strengthen. Even with the worse of the cases, people grow. Coles presents this eloquently.

It was hard to find something that I disliked about this book because there wasn’t anything that I did not like. With excellent editing and no grammatical errors, this book was a treat to read. I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book can appeal to readers of a broad spectrum. It lets you connect with the characters on a deeper level.
