After suffering an indescribable trauma, Eli Cranston decides to forsake his old life and start afresh. By doing so, he moves to another town and makes new friends in the process. He decides to pursue a psychology career, pledging to carefully help people overcome their agonizing pain, forgetting he also needs healing.

Waiting for Grace by Caroline E. Zani is a captivating psychological thriller that narrates the pain humans inevitably feel after experiencing an agonizing event. The main character is Dr. Eli Cranston, and this book revolves around his traumatic past that he seems to be running from. Principal themes are pain, love, healing, and forgiveness.

One thing I particularly appreciate about this book is the seamless transition between the past and the present. From the beginning, it is apparent that Eli has endured an excruciating experience and the author expertly reveals his history to the audience while also describing recent events. Additionally, I like this book because it gives readers hope that there is room for new beginnings; past events do not necessarily affect the future.

My favorite character is Hope. She represents an 11-year old that enjoys tending to animals, particularly horses. Hope genuinely enjoys helping others; she is hardworking, diligent, and well-behaved. Although her father is a drunk who can't get over his emotional trauma, and her mother an addict, Hope repeatedly presents a cheerful face. She dearly loves her parents regardless and consistently tries to be a responsible daughter to them.

I dislike nothing about this book and commend the author for expertly using suspense and intriguing mystery to engage readers. After each peek into Eli's past, readers are left wanting more and are motivated to keep reading to find out. The book ends satisfactorily, with fundamental questions about Eli's past adequately answered and light shed on the reason behind some of his decisions.

Profanities frequently appear in this book, so readers discretion is advised. I did not observe up to ten errors, so I can satisfactorily conclude that a professional adequately edited and proofread it.

Waiting for Grace by Caroline E. Zani recounts Dr. Eli Cranston's experiences that lead up to recent events. It is suspense-filled and mysterious. It makes for a light read after a tedious day or during a pleasant vacation. I enthusiastically recommend it to ardent lovers of psychological thrillers filled with breathless suspense and enigma. I heartily rate it four out of four stars because I did not observe many errors and find it intriguing enough to receive an excellent rating.

Our lives most often revolves around our past. And the author has brilliantly shown that we must learn to balance the two to enjoy a better tomorrow. Great review
