A friend recommended this book and it sat on my kindle until I had nothing else to read as it did not really sound like my type of thing. So when I finally did crack the pages I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty good. It follows Stanley a pretty average kid with a family with a history of bad luck. Bad luck follows Stanley and it sees him get sent to camp green lake after being charged with theft. Wow so don't want to be in Stanley's shoes camp green lake not such a nice place. The characters come alive and Louis is able to portray the feelings of them well. You get to follow Stanley during his time there and on a journey of discovery from whats in the hole he is digging to his escape and the secrets of his family.
This book is aimed at young teens although suitable for anyone. A good read.
