I am currently teaching A level literature students The God of Small Things. What do you think are some good ideas to cover?

Is this the book by Arundhathi roy ? I remember reading it few years back. Though i don't remember in very detail, among other things the book talks about the class divide in India [specifically in the southern state of Kerala] and the hard ship faced by the downtrodden.
