Derek, a new Global-Tech college student, starts what is mint to be a new beginning for him. Derek lived in Valley, a small town in Pennsylvania, though his teenage years where he had got into some bad things, so he has a bad name there. He grew up in Florida and felt left out when they moved from his home town, where his friends were, to Valley where he knew no one but his mother and his sister, Rebecca. This caused him some issues with being an outsider to the other kids in the small town. In Valley he joined The Pack, a group of kids around his age that didn’t treat him like he was an outsider like the others did.
Tony, Anthony, and James are Derek’s roommates at Global-Tech. They seem at first to be an easy going group but Derek never shared anything about himself with anyone. The next day he got in to a fight with some higher class-men in the campus cafeteria. He wasn’t the start of the fight but it took a lot of control to keep his anger down. The next day he ran in to Mila, she was playing on her phone on the empty bleachers. He found out that she came from Valley too. At first this scared him a little, for he didn’t want his past known, but after talking to her she didn’t really know much about him at all. He first day of classes was going great and he was excited about his new life.
Commander Joan was against wolfs. They had killed his wife and he was out for revenge. Late at night in the forest he managed to kill a blood wolf, taking from it its life. In return his curse was sent on to another person chosen by faith. Derek awoke in the night feeling a burning pain on his chest. After checking it he found a red circle. He had no idea what the circle was and no idea what his new life had in store for him.
The book was amazing. I give it 3 out of 4 stars. There are a few grammatical errors but other than that the book was good. I recommend this book to anyone who loves Science fiction and a good book. Benson did an awesome job bring his book to life and keeping me turning the pages until the end. I loved it. I can't wait to read the other books in this series.
