Gilmore Girl Fanatics - Someday, Someday, Maybe

Post by bookworm_by_night »

I don't know about anyone else, but when it comes to Gilmore Girls - I'm a shameless addict. I have every season on DVD and watch them over and over and over. (Truth be known, I probably always will!)

When I found (thank you, magazine subscription) that Lauren Graham (more affectionately know as Lorelai) was writing and releasing a book, I was ecstatic! I mean, if I can't have her on the screen anymore, at least I can have her in my Nook.

Someday, Someday, Maybe is a story about a young girl living in NYC trying to figure it all out. It's a coming-of-age story for the mid-20's, early 30's. The main character struggles through career decisions, where to live, who to date, all while balancing some catastrophic life events. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. You can certainly feel the Lorelai-ness coming through in some of the scenes, writing techniques, and overall voice.

OH MY GOD I LOVED THIS BOOK.

I too am a shameless Gilmore Girls addict. I love love love Lauren Graham (I highly recommend watching her new show Parenthood for your screen fix). Someday, Someday, Maybe was beautiful in every way! I even went and bought Franny and Zoey to better understand the references/allusions in SSM.

I will definitely have to pick this book up and read it. I also love books that reference other books within the writing so I will also look at Franny and Zoey. I have to admit I have a soft spot for coming of age type books, so this is one for me, i think. I look forward to reading and reviewing it.

I liked this book a lot. I'm also a fan of Lauren Graham's acting, and was glad her book held up. It's light and funny and was enjoyable to read.
