Tigers in Red Weather by Liza Klaussmann

This book is very Great Gatsbyesque, every page was a page turner and I totally relished reading the book.
I find that the narrative technique used is purely genius, as you often find you only know half the story until you read the story from the characters perspective.

The book is set in America after the second World War set across the 40's, 50's and 60's and follows the story around five very different but intersting characters. Each section of the book is seen from the perspective of the character and as a reader you don't initially see where the narrative is leading, however by the end of the book you see how each of the characters lives intertwine, and the reasons behind why they end up where they do.

The centre point was an incident in the summer of 1959. Nick's daughter, Daisy, and Helena's son, Ed, found a body in the woods. That sent shock waves through the community, through the family, and the repercussions would be felt for a long, long time.

I found the end of the book left me wanting more, and it didn’t quite answer some of the questions that I had, unless the author is planning on writing a sequel. I also don’t know how I feel about Ed and Avery, as both characters annoyed me slightly, and I thought Ed had unhealthy/unnatural feelings towards Daisy.

I would say that this is an intriguing story of beautiful couples enjoying a grand American, lifestyle until things go terribly wrong.

A good read would reccommend it.

(sorry this is my first review)
