Joey is the story of a mentally impared man living in the Australian outback. It is the third novel in the Ironbark Hill series. This sounds like a very interesting novel. Congratulations to the author for another great book chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

This seems like a realistic story, with characters that are very much human. I like character-driven plots, and the book seems to satisfy this. I'm also glad that there is a strong message against discrimination. Thanks for the review.

This fiction book seems to bring an interesting view about dysfunctional families and trauma. I don't think it is for me since I'm not into drama, but congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the informative review!

I think I would love to read this book. Upon reading the sample pages,I have already liked the writing style of the writer. She started her book describing the setting- In Australia using descriptive words that feels like you are in the scene admiring the green view and the cattle. I liked how she introduce the characters and even though I was not able to read the previous series, still I easily have followed because of the great style of the writer.I am curious to know the ending of the love story of Joey with Alice, it is unusual type of love story knowing that Joey has some impairments. The review is a great help into understanding more the story and adds more to my eagerness to finish the book.Thank you for a great review!.

Well done on a great review! I agree reading the entire series in sequence would be the best option. The author’s evocative writing of the Australian landscape and its people is impressive.

Sometimes we need books like this to lighten up the mood, something more realistic and close to real problems that real people face

This review aroused my interest, I didn't expect the book to be part of a series, and I find it very interesting that the book is told from different points of view. Thank you for sharing this great review.

The romantic aspect between Joey and Alice seems intriguing, and it would be interesting to know the result of their fascination for each other.

Thank you for your wonderful detailed review. I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this book or not, but after reading your review, I will add it to my list of books to read. I am curious how everyone treats Joey and why Alex was so mean to him.

The sample was good enough to make you go for this book. Though it doesn't loom like a fast pace novel but the journey of Joey must be a challenging and inspiring one for sure.

Writing in multiple points of view is hard, and it seems like Linnane did a great job. I'm proud of them for using their book as a platform to raise awareness to racism. I know we hear that word almost everyday, there's still more work to do to end it and one of them is through novels.
