Ever thought of having a glimpse into the dark world of drugs, which in certain parts of the globe has such a profound impact on people's lives? This captivating novel, while providing an insight into such aspects of the drug world, is guaranteed to keep readers at the edge of their seats. The action is spread out from a remote ranch in one of the most inaccessible locations in Canada, through the US, and Mexico. From horses to helicopters, David Griffith expertly takes you through what are mostly rough trails that will make you feel like you are part of the action.

The Fugitive is the fifth book in a series by the same author and is an action-adventure depicting the life of a former investigator into the much-feared world of drug cartels, now turned cowboy. Having left his former adventurous life behind conceivably for good, events force our hero to don his drug-busting shoes one more time, as a former antagonist marks the erstwhile sleuth for elimination, and unleashes the drug world's most feared assassin to track down and terminate him. The repercussions of this undertaking have unexpected results for both the assassin and his patron, and the resulting adventure takes one through a spellbinding path in a thrilling manner. Add a dogged and determined policeman hell-bent on solving a murder, and our hero's trials are complete. You will find yourself reaching the end of the story in what will appear to be far too short a time. The story-telling skill of the author is second to none and will send readers seeking out other books in the series.

Being an action-adventure of the highest order, there is nothing to fault in the tale, and apart from the fact that readers would have wanted it to last longer, there is nothing to disparage the story, which is related in an expert and captivating style.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, as it is a book that is guaranteed to keep it’s readers enthralled.

This book is for readers who enjoy thrillers with high adventure. It does include a lot of blood-spilling, as is to be expected in any action adventure. Many already involved on either side of the drug trade too will be able to relate to quite a lot of the depicted theme, and will find it of immense interest. The book will keep the more adventurous sort of reader absorbed.
