Lonesome Dove Series - what book first?

A lot of you have read the Lonesome Dove series.

I have not read any of these books or seen any of the movies.

I know that this series can be read in either publication or chronological order: Dead Man's Walk (1995), Comanche Moon (1997), Lonesome Dove (1985), Streets of Laredo (1993).

What is your recommendation?

I would read Lonesome Dove first. Its kind of nice reading those other books and going "Ahh, that's what they meant in Lonesome Dove"
