Strong Heart is a Other fiction book written by Charlie Sheldon. The story focuses on Myra, her dad William, his brother Tom and Sarah Tom’s granddaughter who he just met for the first time because of circumstances. Tom had already planned to go on a hiking trip to visit his grandfather Bob-Bob who was buried there over 45 years when Sarah’s grandmother Ruth (his ex-wife) drops her off at their door. Myra immediately seizes the opportunity for them to bond with the new addition to their family as they all go on the trip together to visit Bob-Bob’s grave. However, they get off to a shaky start when Tom misunderstands Sarah; she runs away and is reunited again. Returning, she tells them of her adventures, but the family finds her story a little hard to believe at first until like a puzzle they begin to put the pieces together. This leads them to go on another trip where mysteries begin to unravel. Some themes explored in the book are: trust, betrayal and love.

I liked the two opening quotes at the beginning of the book and the fact that a map was illustrated so the reader was able to follow the places mentioned on the map. The characters were good along with the plot of the story. The chapters were short, held the suspense and always ended on a cliff hanger. The development of the plot and the characters were also good.

There were no negative aspects of the book for me. This is because the book was interesting from the start and was able to maintain that same momentum until it ended. The choice of words used in the book were on point and the book lived up to the expectation I had when I decided to read it, I was not disappointed.

I would give the book a rating of four out of four stars. This is because the book was well written and I was able to feel the emotions coming out like: anger, frustration and sadness.

I would recommend the book to persons fifteen years and older. This is because they would be more able to process the information. I would also recommend the book to persons who are big on family spending time together and persons who want to read a book that is unpredictable.
