Lost Lake, where everything is possible, where you connect with your inner-child, where endings are one's choice. This book is about second chances, healing processes, hope, and redemption. The author's writing has the same beautiful and magical quality as Barbara Delinsky works. Allen is a wonderful storyteller just like Kate(one of the characters). The characters are so compelling and believable, you bond to them in many different form. I absolutely loved Devin, she's such a bright little girl, a wild spirit. I loved her wisecrackyness(witticism). When I think about Bulahdeen, I always have a question in mind: Should we accept the life we have been given, or search for something else?. Eby, we all have someone like her in our lives even if we realized it or not. There couldn't being any better characters to this story. I was so intrigued with the alligator, such a remarkable idea.
This book will lingered with me and will have me re-reading it away just to see if the ending changes as Bulahdeen says. The ending was a welcome surprise(I knew Selma had a kind spirit).
Lost Lake is such an enchanting and engrossing book; it will pull you to Lost Lake and make you want to look for the alligator. I immersed myself in the world of magical Lost Lake, completely lost in the story. I wanted to keep hidden in it. I received an advanced copy of Lost Lake and made me see the magic there is in front of our eyes, "Ever read a story that you simply can’t imagine how it will end? This place is like that. The best things in life are like that."
I'm looking forward to read other books for Allen. She just got a new fan. 5 well deserved stars.
