Review of Gerald Saul Legend in his own mind
Gerald Saul: Legend In His Own Mind, by David Singer, is a fictional story that tells about the life of Gerald and his sojourn through life. In this book, we read about the adventure, love life, sadness and philosophy of a fictional Gerald Saul.
The book was about the first forty years of Gerald Saul's life. He was portrayed as a man who strictly followed the instructions of his mind without a care about the aftermath of his actions. The book is an overview of the challenges, adventures and thoughts of this growing young man. It sheds light on the fact that certain details of our lives that may seem tiny can form an important part of our future. The advantages and disadvantages of making certain immediate life decisions without thinking them through can be deduced from the book and the life of Gerald Saul. The book was written in the first-person narrative. Gerald Saul was the narrator.
I love that the book gave a vivid description of all the places mentioned in it. The reader could easily create mental pictures of those locations as he read the book. I also love that the main character in the book was well defined and developed. The minor characters were equally well developed. The book showed the life of a typical growing young child, and his experiences, as contained in the book, were very relatable. I also love that the book contains a lot of practical moral lessons. The experiences of Gerald Saul can be used as a guide through life.
However, on the negative side, a lot of descriptions made the book somewhat boring. As a book that had so many adventures, it didn't contain so much suspense, and that contributed to making it a little less interesting.
The book was professionally edited. I found just one error in it. However, I will rate the book 3 out of 4 stars. I deducted one star because, at a point in the book, there were descriptions that lacked correlation. This lack of correlation left me a little confused and a little less interested in continuing the book. Nevertheless, the author did a great job explaining the character of Gerald Saul and the circumstances that led to his survival. I had a good time reading the book.
I recommend this book to all lovers of adventurous fiction. Those who love to explore the world through books will equally enjoy this one. Readers will find the book inspirational. They will pick some vital lessons from the challenges Gerald Saul faced and apply same to their lives.
