When and where did the first humans live? This question has been a hot topic for debate among scientists for years. Keeping this as the essence of the story, Charlie Sheldon wrote a gripping fantasy, "Strong Heart". The book's main protagonist, Sarah, aka "strong heart," falls into a pit that leads her on an unreal and ineffable journey. Sarah, being only 13 years old, has suffered too much pain and despair. But very soon, her life took a rather interesting turn and led her to places that are unutterable. Together with Tom, her newly acknowledged grandfather, William, and Myra, they decided to go on a trek to visit Bob-Bob's, Sarah's great grandfather's grave. And this journey turned their lives upside down. Despite encountering a variety of challenges, they were able to smile together. With new beliefs, stories, and incredible experiences, they all wanted to believe in the unbelievable. And so did I, after reading Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldon.

The writer has used every tiny detail to make the fantasy come true. The fact that the story is backed up by some factual arguments makes it even more interesting. The sweet and sour relationship between a grandfather and a granddaughter makes this story adorable in places. What I loved about this book is that the female characters were paramount. They were strong and smart and were gladly accepted as well as respected by the people around them.

The book was very well edited, and I found no reason to not like it. This is probably the first book in the Strong Heart series, as the name suggests, so I'm looking forward to the next part. The story was packed with excitement, action, facts, archeology, 'swalty' relationships, pain, sorrow and, of course, a great share of fantasy.

For me, this book deserves 4 out of 4 stars because when a fantasy is backed up with interesting facts, it makes the story all the more appealing. Besides that, the protagonist, who is just a small girl, is very well written and you can't help but fall in love with her strong heart and smart brain.

I would recommend this book to those who are looking for a good read with a strong female lead. Also, people who love to read fantasy will love this book. You may not end up knowing all about your ancestors, but you may feel like possessing a thrower and some darts at the end.
