Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is an inspiring book about adventure full of humor and tension, emphasizing the most important events in the life of men. It illustrates the annual trip around the world of four Australian friends for 15 years. Also, it is a story about finding purpose and inner calm.

Briefly, the book focuses on the annual tradition of traveling to a new location but also illustrates family and career life. The narrative perspective is subjective, and the story is presented by a narrator whose name is not revealed during the diegesis. Tired of the trivial things and the stress of his life at the office, he needs an escape, so when Sam, his friend since law school, calls and tells him to go on a trip to New Zealand together, he considers that it is the plan of the universe. They go on the first adventure of their 'mission.' Their friends, Daniel and Alec, join them on their third and fourth trips, respectively. They have their own rules, and the journey offers them comfort and a chance to return to childhood and get rid of insecurities and fears.

I liked the writing style of Eytan Uliel. I empathized with the narrator and his introspective analysis, from the need to get rid of his daily routine, the happy family life to the moments of loneliness he felt. I loved the friendship of the four men and the balance between their personalities. Also, I liked how Sam, Daniel, and Alec supported their friend. For instance, they gave him advice regarding his family problems and helped him in difficult situations during their adventures.

There is nothing I disliked about this wonderful story. I liked the challenging trips sprinkled with expeditions and man talks. There were moments when I pictured myself in the middle of the action. For example, I felt the tension of the four men when they met an elephant in South Africa. I liked the trip to Peru the most because the narrator had a moment of deep awareness at the plateau of Machu Picchu. There was no need for words. He was gazing at their guide and realized that men from different places with the same similarities could enjoy the same view.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I never lost my enthusiasm while reading it and appreciated that Eytan Uliel presented the relationship problems and the changes in adulthood. Also, I learned a lot after reading Man Mission. I should cherish every moment of my life without compromise and talk openly about my aspirations and failings. I should not maintain appearances just for the sake of some people, and sometimes dedication and sacrifice are not enough. The book was professionally edited. I discovered no single error while reading it.

I would recommend this book for the fans of adventure in the wilderness, fraternity, and real manly activities. Man Mission is perfect for people who want to follow their dreams and discover life truths through the experiences of the men presented in this story but not for those who are not ready to read about marriage life, adultery, and midlife crisis.
