As a fictional novel published in 2017, Strong Heart was written by Charlie Sheldon which tells us about magical realism, coming of age, and fictitious adventure.

The story begins on a rainy day with a knock on the door that brings unexpected guest. She introduced herself as Sarah Cooley. As the owner of the house, Tom Olsen is very surprised by the coming of this guest brought by his ex-wife, Ruth who confirms that Tom is actually her grandfather. As a 13 years young girl, Sarah is classified as a smart child and good at adapting, although with behavior that strongly indicates that she is still a child. The story continues with Tom's decision to visit the grave of his grandfather at the deep Olympic Pennisula. At that time, Tom's foreign friend, William and William's daughter, Myra also invites Sarah to travel with them. In this adventure, he has to comply with his unfinished business.

The reality then turn to pure imagination on the way Sarah drew a rare bear that she suddenly saw in this place called the end of the earth. When Sarah disappeared for a few days, this place turned into a land of full magic, history, and legend that couldn't be explained in reality. After Sarah is found in a bad state with unusual injuries, she will uncover the true mystery behind her sudden disappearance through this book.

This book is like a page turner that will accompany your whole day and night with a series of unique mystery solving. The introduction of the character is also very interesting, hidden between several mysterious dialogues and wrap in a disguise. With the typical unpredictable plot, the readers are invited to think about what really happened to Sarah.

But unfortunately, there exists some repetitive plots to unravel the hidden mystery, which may bore some readers. Even so, the way the story is delivered is still quite interesting and worth it to follow.

So far I'm giving a rating 4 out of 4 stars, because this book is exceptionally well edited and there are almost no writing errors at all. Besides, the story is also well structured in such a way that the reader is always curious and wonders what the ending will be.

This book is very suitable for all people, especially those who like to imagine and solve a mystery. This book is also recommended for people who want to learn English in more deeply manner, because the language can also be more easily understood as a whole.
