Review of Man Mission
"Jobs fill your pockets, but adventures fill your soul. So, shut up, live, travel, adventure, bless and don't be sorry." As I read this book, I couldn't help but relate with these quotes. Man Mission is a book written by Eytan Uliel. It tells the story of the lives of four young men; Sam, Daniel, Alec and the teller of the story. Annually, for fifteen years, they went on fifteen death missions full of exciting adventures. The writer especially, had childhood dreams and wishes that weren't fulfilled and going on missions now that he was an adult seemed perfect. In a bid to reduce the effect of "old age", these four men take on risky but exciting adventures, crazy journeyings into different countries and travelling into the wilds. Youths who had no problem in the world other than studying and friendships, had become men, married with kids, a transitioning into adulthood and fatherhood. Fondly called "Sunshine" by the rest of his pals, the story teller takes the reader on a journey - how he met his wife, Rachel, how in love he was, their marriage, the children, the personal sacrifices he made, his jump at freedom to escape from monotonous routines, his emotional traumas and sadly, putting on a show of a happy family when the family wasn't. Would his marriage with Rachel eventually work out? Read this book to find out.
Man Mission is a totally relatable book. It tells the woes of men, their inner struggles, the sacrifices they make for their families at the expense of their own personal freedom. Though written from one person's perspective, this book is a very interesting one, a blend of humour and adventures, hiking, biking and lots more. I particularly liked the author's ability to portray the emotions of the characters such that the reader feels those emotions. The banter between the friends and the hilarity of the book made it also enjoyable. It is also an insightful read due to their journeyings to different countries and locations.
There is nothing I dislike about the book. Although, I'd have loved to read from the other characters' perspectives too.
I barely noticed any error while reading the book, so it was professionally edited. All in all, Man Mission is an interesting read. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves reading on family struggles, relationships and friendships. You also love reading about adventures with a blend of humour, then Man Mission is for you!

Thank you for stopping by and commenting.Brett Linette wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022, 05:49 You can't blame a man for wanting to achieve the said goals that he set for himself as a child, if only to make the child inside of him proud.
