Review of The Trinity Rivers Trilogy
The Trinity Rivers Trilogy is a book written by K. Blanton Brenner. It has three parts and fifty-one chapters. These fifty-one chapters are unevenly divided into three parts. This book featured the story of a little girl who was gifted and was filled with enthusiasm; she had dreams and was determined to achieve them. This book focuses on a story of love, kindness, pain, hatred, and a zeal to succeed.
The story starts with a young girl named Olivier Birdsong. She was a very intelligent little girl. Her mother, Hattie Mae, was a maid in Miss Elder's house. Miss Elder loved Birdsong so much; she would keep her company while her mother cleaned the house. She told Birdsong that she had two unique gifts, and the world was waiting for her to explore. Find out in this intriguing book if Birdsong was able to achieve her dreams.
I found some positive aspects to this book, The Trinity Rivers Trilogy. The first positive aspect in favor of this book is the various distinguishing features that were expressed in this book and the ability of the characters to communicate these features explicitly. This was visible in the kindness displayed by some characters, like Mr. Guy Bellamy, his wife, Annie Morgan, and Collin Fairbanks. Also, this book contained humor and sarcasm, which made reading it more enjoyable. I was also pleased with the unsophistication of diction in the book; it was beneficial. I found minimal errors in this book; it was professionally edited.
However, the book has some negative aspects as well. First, the development of the plot was a bit confusing; I found that the story was not followed in sequence. It was difficult following the events, as they turned out. For example, just after Mary told Jack that she was pregnant with his child, in the next chapter, she was having labor complications. I kept wondering how it progressed so fast. Also, I felt the author abruptly narrated the story of Robbie, which should have come earlier. In addition to these, this book has constant use of profanities contained in the characters' speeches. This may be an issue for some people while reading this book. For these reasons, I will deduct one star from my rating of this book.
Therefore, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I couldn't give it a perfect rating because the negative aspects mentioned above affect my general enjoyment of the book to some extent. I didn't give this book a lower rating since the book was enjoyable and well written.
I recommend this book, particularly to lovers of fictional books around the world. Anyone who enjoys reading fiction would enjoy reading this book.
