Review of Backcomb & Tattoo
Backcomb and tattoo began when two women met at a get together party, they’d met in the unusual way, bonded like sisters, and became a duo. The third was found in an airplane on a vacation to Spain, and they bonded real quick like they’d known each other for days.
Thinking that Shea Embry would give us a trio, the fourth woman was spotted in a spar, and after an accidental coincidence, she’d bonded swiftly with the rest of the trio, meeting up for luncheons that led to sleep overs. And the duo progressed to a quad that were unshakeable.
Four women from different backgrounds, different beliefs, and different ways of life; found how to make life easier for themselves, because they had always remembered to have fun always because they saw it as the best way to live lives.
Their relationship with one another was a rollercoaster of emotion, as Shea Embry made it. They’d kept huge secrets from one another, because they believed that ‘their some secrets that can never been shared.’ And they sealed it till the very end.
Friendship was the basic theme in this book, as it healed the four quad of their pain and bad past, it made me assured that people out there still cared. Backcomb and tattoo showed how emotional trauma heals with the help of friends. It didn’t end there, lessons were learnt, as freedom of gifts were given to one another in order to have a happier life. They’d cried at shoulders of one another, lied to one another to protect the secrets which they’d found out, in order not to hurt one another. They’d supported one another in every way, pushing away the odds, and focused on what seemed like it was the best to do for them.
The audience should be the young adults, as it displays the lives of young women and how they managed it effectively. Teenagers can also be part of the reading experience, because it broadens the mind of what to face in the early adulthood.
I would not advise that the book be read by homophobic people, because some acts wouldn’t be pleasing to them, as a same sex attraction was discovered in the book.
My favorite pages would be pages 275 to 281, as it held things that intrigued me in this book.
Shea Embry brought into light what we face in the world today, and I give Backcomb and tattoo a 4 out of 4 stars, because it had blown my mind, and I didn’t see anything to complain of. It was an easy read, that sent words down to the soul. I couldn’t keep it down, because it was more than a good piece.
