Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is a novel about four regular guys who had known each other since college, Eytan, Sam, Daniel and Alec. The author’s character, Eytan takes us into every phase of his adult life through yearly adventures across the ocean together with his best friends. They called it Man Mission. This is a story about friendship and brotherhood on the next level.

First and foremost, this book serve as an eye opener on every level. It opens the window of the world some people never got to know. I love how it made me feel like I am reading a travel guide book in a way that is more fun than the actual travel guide book. It was loaded with useful tips and informations only the author’s character, Eytan can provide. The novel is told in first person point of view, so all the raw emotions were there for us readers to experience firsthand. The story itself is in dual timeline, switching back and forth between past and present. Eytan really did a good job at portraying every aspect of life through a man’s perspective. How these guys managed to remain best friends since they were single men up to being married with kids later on is very inspiring and fascinating to read. I guess that is what I like the most about this book. I really appreciate the brutal honesty Eytan shared throughout the whole journey he were in.

Now, the negative aspects? It is really hard to find anything negative if you really like something. Most of the time, we just turned a blind eye. But, I do have to point out that it was kind of disrespectful for Eytan and Sam to just ignore the rules in one of the countries they were in. For example, on page 42 when a conductor pointed out that no bike were allowed on train but then Sam whispered, “I don’t care what he says. We are most definitely going to be getting on this train.”

The writing is exceptionally done without error. It might have been professionally edited. Therefore I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

Man Mission by Eytan Uliel certainly is a hilarious, entertaining adventure wrapped up in a book. Adult and young adult would find this book very enjoyable. Please note the trigger warning for animal abuse. You can find one of the examples on page 70; “His son, on the other hand, looked positively annoyed with me, and without another word pushed me aside, grabbed the goose, and broke it’s neck.”
