Man Mission by Eytan Uliel follows the lives of the protagonist and his three friends as they take annual adventures around the world. What starts as a getway from life's problems and decision-making turns into a yearly tradition that goes on for fifteen years. Told from the first-person narrative of the protagonist, we are taken into the personal lives of the adventurers and the events leading to each mission. The four friends grow from college to working class, from single life to married life. The author also talks about the struggles they face in their married lives and how they use the missions as an escape from reality. The protagonist taps deep into his personal life, from his relationship with Rachael to their marriage. He talks about the struggles and responsibilities of being a new father. He talks about the toll his adventurous side takes on his marriage. Will love conquer all or will their marriage crumble?

More than anything, I loved the author's sense of humor. He turned serious situations into ridiculous scenes that made me laugh my lungs out. During the first mission, the protagonist lost his toe nails due to lack of proper knowledge when it came to planning for mountain hiking. This could have been sad to read but the author turned it into a joke. The storyline itself was daring. I have always wanted to go on girlfriend trips and vacations. I thought I was getting too old to fulfill that wish until reading about the protagonist growing older yet still going on an annual vacations with his friends. It motivated me to plan for adventures with my friends.

The author's inclusion of geographical locations and maps of each destination made everything more believable. Uliel's vivid descriptions of scenes kept things interesting. It made me visualize the enetire book easily. It also made me look forward to adventurous days. I also enjoyed the various lessons of different cultures that came with each mission. It also teaches us about responsibility in general and learning to plan for life. One other essential lesson was on divorce. People are scared of walking out of emotionally-unhealthy marriages because they fear the unknown of being single again. The main character struggled through his divorce but eventually found himself again. I liked how these missions were not just ways of escaping from daily responsibilities but also served to strengthen these men's friendship. These men went on each mission without proper planning and research of the places they would visit or the activities they would carry out. It always had bad consequences on them but they never learned. However, this made reading more hilarious as they struggled to fulfill their missions.

Man Mission was exceptionally edited. I found no grammatical or typographical errors. Uliel managed to keep every mission interesting and quite different from the last. His writing style was simple but professional. The vocabulary used was not too heavy. The only thing that I did not like about this book was the tiny font. It made my eyes hurt every time I read the book. However, this did not stop me from enjoying the storyline. Apart from the tiny font everything else was perfect. This is why I still rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend Man Mission to those who love adventure. This could give you insights on how to plan for your trips. This book can also serve as a guide on which places to visit and during which seasons. Readers of all religions can have a shot at this book since it does not dwell on any particular religion. There are all forms of profanity that hinder the book from being suitable for all age groups. I recommend it to a mature audience.
