Much is required of those who are given much, and precious things that are lost along the way will eventually be found in the end.

Eytan Uliel's non-fiction narrative Man Mission follows the lives of four best friends over fifteen years. Each of the four buddies comes from a family of privilege and entitlement. They get the best education, get the best jobs, and marry the best girls. Thus, what is missing? Adventure? Each year, they would look for unusual destinations to visit around the world. These four best friends have argued, laughed, sobbed, swore, and sung their way through the ultimate travel experience, from the picturesque Australian landscape to the spectacular Northern Lights of Iceland. Each year, they embark on a five-to seven-day tour, trekking across the world. Some with the encouragement of their spouses and families; others, not so much. They are, nonetheless, able to establish an unbreakable bond of friendship amongst themselves. There are thrilling stories of danger lurking around every corner, reckless abandonment of the elements, lost and found relationships, and the importance of family and friends. It's a classic tale of brotherhood. Above all, it's a story about self-discovery and self-care.

The book is well-organized, containing sections such as the introduction, middle, and conclusion. There is a table of content that serves as a guide to the reader regarding specific sections of the book. Each chapter has a clear, descriptive heading that tells the reader what to expect when reading. Each chapter also includes a pictorial map of each exotic location visited, as well as a summary guide. The author also added a renowned person's quote, as well as a scripture reference from the Old Testament. Both these writings are inspirational as they speak of man's philosophy from a man’s perspective.

The book is beautifully written and is told from the author’s point of view. In it, he delves into the lives of all four characters and their personalities. He articulates their likes and dislikes, their struggles and their triumphs, and their similarities and differences. For each trip, the author expertly described each location. He uses vivid descriptions of the various locations, the exotic animals they encountered, and the endearing people they met along the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the many quests undertaken by the four men. There were humorous encounters, unfortunate injuries, and unforgettable moments. I was literally on a roller coaster while reading this book. At various points, I laughed and cried. Sometimes I am furious with them for making unnecessary and fatal decisions. But in the end, I recognize it’s all part of being a man. It’s all part of the self-aggrandizement process.

I dislike the men's crude comments about females and their anatomy. But, as far as I can tell, it's an authentic and real-world application. As one might anticipate in a man's world, profanities are frequently used throughout the novel. There are references to some sexual depictions. I did not observe any errors in the book as it was professionally edited. I rate this book four out of four stars because I believe it is well-deserving and will leave a lasting impression on those who read it.

This book is recommended to mature individuals, particularly women, who want to gain a better understanding of how men perceive and represent life; it is also recommended to macho men, as it will rekindle comradery spirits. It's also for the global travellers and sightseers whose adventurous spirits will carry them around the world.
