Review of Man Mission
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel tells the story of a heartfelt, unbreakable friendship that is unaffected by the passage of time. The protagonist meets Sam by accident in law school, and he soon becomes a vital part of his life. Sam turned out to be the perfect companion for the main character at the campus Food Fair. Years passed, and the protagonist stepped into the boring world of adulthood, with an 18-hour workday, sitting motionless at a desk, and immersing himself in a daily routine. However, one sudden call from Sam put everything upside down. He offered the protagonist to buy tickets without much thought and do what they had wanted for so long - a trip for the boys. This laid the groundwork for their annual trip. It became the best way for boys to go on adventures, face tough challenges and test their abilities. The guys were soon accompanied by two additional pals, and the yearly trip became perfect.
The first thing I liked was that the narration is in the first person, which inadvertently makes the reader a part of the story. This book is an inspiration to me. The happiness, adventures, and beauty of life seen in everyday life will make anyone fall in love with life again. This is not an ideal story with ideal people; however, I felt harmony throughout the reading process. The characters grow before our eyes. We have the opportunity to observe their personal lives, and their ups and downs; however, their friendship remains unchanged.
During these 15 years, the main characters have visited 15 special places. I think it will be interesting for travel lovers. From climbing on the glaciers to sailing, the characters have experienced what it means to look death in the eyes and also, the pride that comes with overcoming a challenge. This is not just a book about travel and friendship; it is a book about overcoming life challenges and spiritual growth that is not achieved by sitting in a comfort zone. My favorite part is the ending of the book, which made the book even better. My favorite phrase from this part: "By allowing myself to behave like a little boy-I have gone some way to learning what it means to be a man."
The only thing I did not like was the huge captions from the publisher company on every page that distracted me. Other than that, I think everything is perfect. This is an exceptionally well-edited book since I found just one minor error.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Because of the reasons listed above, Man Mission deserves a perfect rating. The reader is easily involved in the reading process, and the constant change of locations, adventures, and interesting personal life of the characters do not allow us to get bored. I recommend the book to people who love adventure and travel. Also, I think any person who loves reading family stories will enjoy this book. Keep in mind that Man Mission contains profanity, though it is not exaggerated and is suited to the situation.
