Four friends, Charlie, Sam, Daniel, and Alec, embark on an annual trip to relax their minds and catch fun. They travel to places like New Zealand, Japan, Australia, Fiji, Spain, Thailand, South Africa, Vietnam, the USA, Peru, Taiwan, South Korea, and Iceland. They engage in various exercises like cycling, kayaking, sailing, and hiking. They spice up the exercises with delicious meals, drinks, and snacks. They call the trip "Man Mission." This is where the novel gets its title from. The friends enact some rules and regulations to govern the exercises. These rules and regulations are called the "Man Mission Charter." Whoever violates any of the rules and regulations is given a "Pink Bracelet" to wear. The bracelet is a symbol of mockery, weakness, and rebellion. The annual trips are truly fun, educative, and refreshing. The four friends are exposed to different kinds of people, cultures, and natural resources. This novel will give you a wonderful reading experience.

In Man Mission, Eytan Uliel interweaves the account of the annual trips with the personal stories of these friends. Charlie, the protagonist, is married to Rachel. He graduates from a law school and takes up a well-paying job at a law firm. He loves his wife and his three kids. In a bid to make more money to foot his personal and family bills, he quits legal practice to work in a bank. His life is sweet and smooth until he finds himself in a complicated personal crisis. Readers will be thrilled by the details of his personal story and those of his friends.

I am happy I chose this novel to review. I enjoyed it. It is filled with suspense. The characterization is impressive. The characters behave like real human beings. Readers can feel their pains, fears, and happy moments. The denouement is epic. I noticed only two grammatical errors in the novel. I believe it was well edited.

Apart from the two grammatical errors I noted above, I also found the vulgar words in this novel disturbing. However, would-be readers should note that Charlie and his friends used most of those words just to crack jokes.

I am glad to rate this novel 4 out of 4 stars. Man Mission is not just an adventure book. Readers will learn practical lessons from the personal stories of Charlie and his friends. On page 17, Charlie notes, "Ego mixed with adrenaline will drive men to do crazy things." Uliel did a great job writing this novel.

Those who love adventure books will have a great time reading this novel. I also recommend it to anybody looking out for a good novel to cheer up their day.

Nice review. I just finished this book as well and loved it. It's strange that I don't ever remember reading the name "Charlie" in the entire book, and there are even some forum discussions about how the main character wasn't named. I wonder if I missed it somewhere, or perhaps the latest edition has changed. In any case, I think we both had the same positive regard for the book!

It is so amazing of the author to come up with this story. Although, I don't think four guys can follow themselves for years going on missions. Well..it makes sense in some way. Family problems can change the story. Nice review.
