Man Mission captures the worldwide adventures of several men who are determined to fit epic experiences into their lives, despite pressures to remain stuck in the mundane. Author Eytan Uliel takes the reader on a joy ride all over the world, from New Zealand to Fiji to Iceland, with a whole batch of other countries in between. These aren’t just ordinary vacations. They are “man missions”. Taking on athletic challenges, eating unique foods, and getting into all sorts of predicaments are characteristics of these missions. If you’re feeling a bit bored with your life, this could be the perfect book to remind you that there’s a wide world out there just waiting for you to discover it.

I liked reading about how the men planned a journey to a different destination each year. As they tackled the challenges of each trip, they bonded over shared experiences. They also occasionally bared their souls about their obstacles with relationships, careers, and families. These authentic and refreshing conversations were often mixed in with hilarious escapades.

I absolutely loved Man Mission! This was a book that I wanted to savor, but I couldn’t read it slowly. I wanted to keep reading about the next adventure. As I have been to many of the destinations in the book, it was especially fun to read about the experiences the men had in those places. Uliel is a great storyteller, and he has a gift of bringing the reader right into the experience the characters were having. He created the right blend of lighthearted fun and serious drama.

One aspect I particularly appreciated was the underlying message that you must be deliberate about integrating epic experiences into your life. The author did a great job demonstrating that it is possible to take time to enjoy yourself and bond with friends, even when life seems overwhelming.

It was hard to find anything that I didn’t love about this book. While I enjoyed the lighthearted adventures more than the ones where the men were struggling, each story had its rightful place in the book. It was the blend of fun and seriousness that made the book so enjoyable. The book was also exceptionally well-edited. I couldn’t find a single error. Given my positive experience reading Man Mission, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

This book is for anyone who enjoys reading about travel, adventures, and relationships. I highly recommend Man Mission to those readers who need some inspiration to add epic experiences into their life.
