Review of Man Mission
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is an adventurous story of four college friends who make a decision to always put aside some time for themselves as men away from work, family, and the comfort of home to go on adventures. The very first trip is by only two of the four friends as they adventure on the hike of the Harpers Pass trail in New Zealand. This adventure came with several challenges like the lack of camping experience as it took them an hour to pitch the tent and furthermore they are attacked in the night by what they thought were wild animals only to wake up and find that they had set up their camp in the farmer's paddock. Through the adventures, the narrator gives details of the several challenges that they faced like meeting drug dealers and the different injuries sustained. The challenges that they encountered on several trips helped them prepare for the next trips to come. The four friends continued the tradition for 15 years as they went on adventures to Japan, Spain, Thailand, South Africa, Vietnam, and many more other places. Along the journey, the four friends had married and had children of their own who they also included in the adventures along with their spouses.
I loved that the author provided detailed narrations for the reader to feel connected to the story and the different adventures that these friends go on. I love that the author provides basic background information to help the reader understand the story and the relationship between the major characters. I loved that the author used easy-to-read language and the style of writing is very interesting and keeps the reader engaged as they try to figure out what and where the next adventure will be. I love that the story is realistic as It brings out the challenges faced in modern-day families like cheating, the story also shows that everyone requires time away from the normal routine to socialize with friends who play an important role in an individual's life.
I loved that the story is fun and the author acknowledges and appreciates the differences between the friends as they journey their personal and family lives for fifteen years. I loved that the author provides detailed descriptions of the different places that the group of friends toured over the Fifteen years. Personally, I felt the urge to visit most of the places described in the story. I loved that the book provides great lessons about friendship as the four friends stick together in both good and bad times, as they celebrate and try to find ways of solving the problems and challenges they face in life.
I did not appreciate that the author used profane words in circumstances where they would have been avoided.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it is exceptionally well edited and very exciting.
I recommend this book for adults since it provides life lessons regarding adult life, also a significant part of the narration deals with sexual issues which are suitable for only adults.
