Gertie McDowell, who went by many aliases, was most commonly known by her stage name, Little Miss Twinkle Toes. A person who was very fond of her called her Cossette, and others might know her fake name as Ruby Mae. Gertie has experienced many interesting events in her life. For instance, she was once famous on an online website, sewed dresses for a big company to earn a side income, went to jail for selling meth without intention, got divorced, remarried the love of her life, and became a ping-pong champion. Many people adore Gertie for her childlike innocence and naivete. When you meet her in person, you will love her and feel the need to protect her from the world just like the other people who met her.

The novel, The Ping-Pong Champion of Chinatown written by James Hanna, is an uproarious and heartwarming read containing many laugh-out-loud moments that will leave you with a smile on your face. The novel's cover art also managed to perfectly capture Gertie in a way that was very accurate to how she would be portrayed throughout the story.

Other than the fact that the novel storyline and cover are perfect, I love how the author has managed to show a clear, noticeable character development arc in not just the main character, but also some of the side characters. For example, the Nose is a perverted guy who is only interested in Gertie's feet and making money off of her. However, he then begins to feel the need to protect her and become her father figure. In the end, he stopped his fetish for feet.

Not that at all. The author's writing style is easy to understand, even though they use a lot of slang terms and phrases. I felt like I was reading Gertie's diary instead of a novel, which made it a lot more enjoyable to read. And also there were no glaring grammatical errors, typos, or continuity errors that I could see throughout my reading of the novel.

Do I find any of the characters or plot elements in the novel to be annoying, confusing, or otherwise frustrating? Nope, the author did an excellent job of writing the novel and developing the characters. The novel is also free of hate speech, making it a very enjoyable read.

The novel is incredibly deserving of a full rating of 4 out of 4 stars. It's not only full of humorous stories, but the character development is fantastic. Plus, the editing is practically perfect. You can tell the author put a lot of time and effort into making this the best novel it could be.

I would highly recommend this novel to anyone who can appreciate complex character development and imaginative plots, and who can also distinguish between fiction and reality.
