Review of Man Mission
Man Mission began when two men met at an eatery while they were in law school, and they became very close because of their mutual love for food. They have now made plans to go on annual vacations, eating very strange foods and doing outdoorsy things. Many years passed by and the two friends forgot all the plans they had made together. But all of a sudden, one of the two friends calls the other, and they decide to take off hastily and begin their adventure.
A few years later, the two friends were joined by two others. They are now four in number. They were biking, hiking, and kayaking in many parts of the globe. They explored South Africa, Vietnam, Fiji, New Zealand, Iceland, and many countries over a period of fifteen years. Their adventures were more thrilling and physically challenging than the previous ones they had all faced. These situations made them outdo each other and try to prove their manliness. I found this book very interesting, engaging, and entertaining on many levels. Eytan Uliel did great work by narrating all the details and daily events of all that happened during this wonderful adventure. I was enlightened about the important events in the lives of the four young men. The four men fell in love, navigated their careers, got married and built their families too. The men had their times of failure and their times of bouncing back up to success. The men grew up, changed, and learned more about each other.
I so much enjoyed this book because the author made the thoughts of the main character very visible and reflective. I believe the readers can learn from the difficulties the main character faced and the solutions he gave to such problems. The themes of friendship, travel, family, marriage, choices, change adventure, andnd redemption emerge in this wonderful story. Some thoughts from the story struck me deeply. I learnt that friends come and go. Everyone will surely die. Change is constant among humans. Not every romance is permanent.
I didn't like the beginning of the story because it looked boring to read. But as I went on with the story, I was proven wrong by the sweet adventures. I still love the story despite the slow, boring beginning.
I would like to give this book 4 out of 4 stars . The book was very well-edited, funny, thought-provoking, intelligent, emotive, and enjoyable.
I would recommend this book to those who love adventures. Those who love adventure stories and those who love travelling , and making friends will love this great book.
