Review of Glitter on the Rocks
Glitter on the Rocks is a Western novel by Frank Allan Rogers. The story follows the life of Marty Redman, a world champion bull rider. Marty got married at the tender age of 19. However, his marriage faced a crucial challenge that ultimately led to divorce. Marty sets out on a quest to prove his manhood. He tries various physical activities like rock climbing, sky diving, and bull riding. The latter winds up more than a passion for him, and it turns into his profession.
Marty catches the eye of many women, but none of them leave a lasting impression until he meets Elly. He falls hard and fast for her, but their romance has its fair share of ups and downs. Marty has to decide whether he’ll let the obstacles he encounters change his life positively or negatively.
I would like to Frank Allan Rogers for writing such a moving story. I found the story to be both charming and moving. The author did a great job ensuring that the characters in Glitter on the Rocks are relatable. I found myself deeply invested in Marty’s life and seeing him happy. I felt for his character and the issues he faced, which are things that could happen to anyone.
I love that Glitter on the Rocks tackles issues such as infertility, teenage pregnancy, dating, loss, grief, motherhood, marriage, and the importance of family in general. These are all things that readers can connect with in the story. I appreciate that the author also included elements of humor in the story. It lightened the mood in the story and added a certain charm to the story. The funniest thing had to be Marty’s encounters with Roxanne. I don’t want to spoil what happens, but Roxanne left Marty in quite the state.
Before reading Glitter on the Rocks, I did not know much about rodeos and bull riding. However, I learned so much about the sport after reading this book. I commend the author for the detailed descriptions of Marty’s rides. It enabled me to envision his competitions and the occurring events in the story.
In summary, I will be giving Glitter on the Rocks an overall rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I gave the book a perfect rating because it would be unfair to score anything lower than that. The only thing I wish was different is the cover. In my opinion, it’s too plain. However, I don’t feel it warrants a star reduction because it still relates to the story. Readers should not judge Glitter on the Rocks by its cover. The story is incredibly captivating and heartwarming. I also did not fail to notice how good the writing and editing in this book are. I did not find any errors whatsoever while reading.
I recommend Glitter on the Rocks to people who enjoy reading love stories. Given the nature of this book, I would not recommend it to readers who do not like westerners. I also don’t think this book is suitable for young readers because of its mature tone.

I have always found that the cover of a book is the quickest way to catch a reader's attention. I appreciate that you made note of it within your review. I have found that some of my favorite novels were gems in comparison to their artwork. I also enjoy that this novel is love-centered even within the context of its goal-orientated message. Passion for a profession is as much a love story as is a typical romance.
