Man Mission tells a tale of friendship, evolution, and rebirth spread across three parts: The Beginning, The Middle, and The End. This story happens within fifteen years and culminates in a heartfelt epilogue that distils the lessons of these years into a beautifully wrapped image of familial charity.

Two friends, both at the start of their careers and prime of their lives, re-visit an old college dream of theirs and make it a reality. This action sees them leaving the comforts of the modern world to rough it up by hiking trails of Harper's Pass in New Zealand, where they experience scares, discomforts, and a strange encounter with drug dealers, among other occurrences.

Undeterred by their misadventures, another mission the following year sees them cycling through Japan, receiving a tour and unwittingly providing an entertaining spectacle for their old Japanese hostess. These experiences forge a tradition that endures for fifteen years, one which embraces the addition of two more intimate friends.

There are so many positive aspects of this book. This story is a blatantly honest take on growth, life experiences, and the challenges of manhood as the characters wade through their unique lives. The allure of the idea of “Man Mission” is in its narrative simplicity, tracing its origin from friendships sparked by similar interests and nurtured through a shared craving for adventure; it details the evolution of its central characters from carefree young men to mature middle-aged men attentively. For instance, the intermittent flashbacks to earlier domestic happenings while describing the rigours of the numerous trips serve to spice the story while giving context and adding authenticity to the story. Since it is written solely from a personal point of view, usual concerns about the diminished narrative input of other characters are seriously reduced.

I was so engrossed in this book. I think I was daydreaming about the idea of having a Man Mission with my own friends. I do not have any criticisms of this book. I would say the author did an excellent job with this one.

Eytan Uliel checks every personal box of mine in terms of pacing, style, emotion, and descriptive finesse. As an exceptionally well-edited book, it provides an excellent tale for individuals who appreciate a mature coming-of-age story. Also, I would recommend this book to lovers of adventure stories. Man Mission merits a solid 4 out of 4, and I do not hesitate to give it such for the reasons stated above.

We need to learn from others' experiences. That is what makes this book a delightful read. I do hope, like you said, that I get to embark on my adventure someday.

I like that the book shows the characters evolving. I also like that it is well edited as the presence of errors can be disturbing. The storyline of the book is amazing and I would most certainly like to join the author in his mission. Perhaps my friends and I can go on our own adventures one day. Thank you for the review.
