Man Mission is a novel written by Eytan Uliel. Four friends create a tradition to go on an adventure trip each year. The first year they go hiking in New Zealand, then they go mountain biking in Japan. Each year thereafter the adventure increases as they go to new destinations like South Africa, Vietnam, Machu Picchu in Peru, and Iceland. Over fifteen years and fifteen Man Missions, the four friends discover more about themselves and what it means to be a man in everyday life.

There are numerous positive aspects to the novel. I love how special the friendship is between the four men, how much fun they have on their adventures, and how they keep their traditions alive each year. Every chapter is a new adventure, making the book fast-paced and easy to read. Eytan Uliel describes each adventure so well, that it feels like you are part of the trip. I enjoyed the fact that Eytan, Sam, Daniel, and Alec often teased each other but could have serious discussions when needed. As a South African, I particularly enjoyed reading about their trip to my country and found myself laughing at their situation on the Safari. I also enjoyed learning about each destination's local cuisine as the four friends often ate local food throughout their mission.

There are two negative aspects to the novel. I felt the women in each of their lives could have been written about a bit more, as the Wives Committee was a cute idea. I also didn't like the situations with animals in the book. I know Bullfighting is a sport in Spain, but I hated reading about the Bull being killed. There was also a hurt rabbit that was put out of its misery, which was very descriptive. I wish the author had left this out, as he seemed to imply that killing an animal was part of becoming a real man.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 due to all the positive aspects mentioned above and because the book was easy to read. Furthermore, I believe this book is professionally edited due to the lack of spelling errors and incorrect grammar.

I would recommend this book to adult readers who enjoy reading about adventure and the struggles men face in their everyday lives. I wouldn't recommend it to young readers as there are a few instances of profanity and sexual situations. Man mission is a great book filled with adventure and the power of friendship.
