When you’re set to create and manage something as big as a recreational center, it’s normal to expect some fun. After all, places like this are built to make new memories. And so when something horrendous such as murder occurs in such a happy place, it’s unsurprising to be taken aback. In JT’S World by E. Alan Fleischauer, one finds themselves in this exact position.

On what should have been a momentous day for JT Thomas’ life, an employee in his recreational center was killed in a bowling alley. His complex was supposed to be home to hotels, theaters, and shops, but it turned into a home of murders in a blink of an eye. With things happening all around the complex, there’s only a little bit of time left before everyone dies one by one, or at least until the murderer reaches their target. In this fast-paced turn of events, a reader experiences a wild chase of suspense and drama.

I would recommend this book to fans of murder mysteries. There is a lot happening in this book, but they are tied incredibly well together. Despite it being a part of a series, I believe it could also be read as a standalone. The twists are fun, interesting, and thought-provoking. Beyond the plot itself, the characters are also three-dimensional and have their complexities that make them feel human. This is a mystery for those who crave suspension, drama, and tension. Due to the scenes in this book, I would not recommend JT's World to young readers.

There is nothing I disliked about this book. The details of these scenes were crucial and worth my time, and none of them was plain titter tat. The descriptions were also detailed and could make you feel as if you were in the complex with them. I would also like to point out the beauty of how this book began. It started poignant, riveting, and catchy. It was professionally edited, too. For these reasons, I am rating this book four out of four stars.

I would like to applaud Fleischauer for JT's World. I imagine that the world-building in this book required great effort and imagination, and he executed it wonderfully. This book is capable of providing readers with an escape to an entirely different world, and that is a skill and gift that Fleischauer has. It has been an honor to read a few of his works, and this one has not failed to reach my expectations. I genuinely look forward to reading more from him.
