Review of JTs World
JT's World is an adventure-filled romance novel by E. Alan Fleischauer. The book is a story about a wealthy and kind-hearted businessman, Mr. John Thurgood Thomas. After the mysterious events that unfold on his complex's grand opening day, he decides to go on a trip to clear his mind. On his journey, he meets different people, fights crime, and finds love. Although it's a series book, it can be read as a standalone novel.
During the grand opening day of JT's new complex, a mysterious murder happens at the complex's bowling alley, disrupting the grand opening event. After that event, he was advised to travel to Colorado. This is to cool his head off and to acquire some cattle for his ranch. On his way there, he helps fight crime in some towns he visits and shows love and care to the people he meets. He meets some attractive women, but none of them stands out, like his newfound love, Jessica. This new happening brings some unexpected twists in his life. Want to find out more? Read the book for more.
I observed that the author uses flashbacks to help readers better understand the present scenes in the book or learn more about a character. The writer also italicized some words to denote a character's inner thoughts. In addition, I noticed the writer portrays some of the characters as Southerners, with their unique accents and English-speaking style. I observed some words or terms used by the author were particular to the historical Western United States. Furthermore, I admire how the author uses scene breaks for transitions in the book.
I liked that the author portrayed JT as a generous, loving man and a nature lover. He's always seen staring at the sky and admiring how it beautifully lights the day. I like that JT encounters different places and meets new people on his journey to Colorado, introducing each town's adventure to the reader. I also like the author's writing style; he describes the characters hugely, thereby painting a picture of their physical appearance in reality. Moreso, I love the defense strategy thought out by the Gibbon brothers and how confident their attorney, Aamon Zamora, was.
I wouldn't say I liked the author's use of so many characters in the book and some unrelated scenes that made him stray from the book's main point. The author's well-detailed narration of some murder scenes might be unfavorable to some readers. Also, the book was too lengthy, making it a bit uninteresting. The beginning of the book was about the killing at the complex, but when the author returned to the scenes, it looked like nothing mysterious had happened there. Apart from these, there is nothing in the book that I dislike.
Although I found some typographical errors in the book, they did not impede my reading progress. As a result, I give JT's World by E. Alan Fleischauer four out of four stars because it is professionally edited. I recommend this book to young people interested in romance and adventure. I believe western book lovers will love the book.
