Review of Man Mission
The novel Man Mission: Four Men, Fifteen Years, One Epic Journey by Eytan Uliel features four friends, Daniel, Alec, Sam, and the author, and their adventures throughout their trips and lives. They develop careers, have children, get married, and do all else that good men should do. However, the annual Man Mission turns into more than just a vacation when the difficulties of everyday life clash with the ideal lives they are supposed to be leading.
The friends created the idea for a man mission in college, but it was not until their late 20s that it happened. It eventually became a yearly event as one man mission led to another. Readers follow the central character and his friends on fifteen worldwide adventures. On each trip, they hike, bike, or kayak, and stay at random locations. The book not only describes these men's extraordinary vacations around the world but also gives insight into their lives, their growth, and the challenges they have faced throughout their lives.
Throughout the book, the author's writing style is enjoyable and easy to follow; there was never a dull moment. There is a sense of realism and relatability in the story. The author uses creative techniques to convey information about the culture of the countries or regions that their characters are visiting. Throughout the narration, we learn about the friends' everyday lives and the significant events that occur in each of their lives. The characters discuss a variety of subjects, including friendship, love, family, and many more, which helps the readers to reflect on their own lives.
I appreciate the author's language and writing style and I think it would make a great movie. The story didn't include any boring explanations or specifics. The book inspires people to not only travel but to live a life without fear and forfeit.
However, I would like to point out some negatives I found. The print in this book was so small and difficult to read, it affected my reading experience. I also thought the book was a little too long and would have appreciated a slightly shorter tale.
I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is simple to relate to the story because it focuses on many real-life difficulties and how they might hinder someone's development and happiness. The above-mentioned statements are the reason I give this rating. I found no typos or grammatical errors in the book.
Because of the book's non-borderline language, sexual references, and frequent discussions of drugs, alcohol and firearm, I would only suggest it to readers over the age of 18. Also, older readers who like to travel and go on adventures will enjoy this book.
