Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is a memoir that humorously recounts the travels of a group of friends over a 15-year period. Narrated by an unnamed protagonist, this book delves into issues that the reader would find relevant in today's world. A wonderful piece of art. This book is as insightful as it is entertaining.

Thrilled with the idea of a getaway, the protagonist and Sam made plans to travel to exotic destinations and experience the different cultures each place had to offer, but it wouldn't be until three years later before this plan would come to fruition. The requirements of this journey call for each individual to test themselves with activities they deem to be unquestionably macho. After the success of the first trip, the whole thing quickly became an annual event, which they dubbed "Man Mission," and it came to include the remaining two friends, Alec and Daniel.

Move forward a few years, and the main character is now a married man with a job to handle. The remainder of the book depicts his struggles as he tries to balance his family and professional obligations while also striving to live up to the image of the ideal man that he believes society has created for him. The Man Mission became even more vital to him in maintaining his sanity as the pressure in his daily life increased.

What I liked best about this book was how much insight it managed to share while remaining enjoyable throughout. The author raised some extremely important points that I feel many people would agree with. The growth of the digital industry has created numerous new opportunities. It has also made life considerably easier for us. However, it has its disadvantages. It has given birth to a fast-paced way of life that everyone is so attached to. We're always in a rush to get what we want.
After putting heart and soul into these pursuits, they're usually left with spent emotions and, sometimes, a feeling of unfulfillment. This causes them to seek solace in whatever outlet they can find. Some find it in a bottle and some in sex. Whatever it is, they're all just looking for ways to escape their current reality. Hence the need for the Man Mission on the protagonist's part and her seeming over-commitment to the gym on Rachel's part. With their lives spinning out of control and tension rising, they sought relief in their own way. Each dealt as best as he could with his problem.

On a lighter note, I liked the introductory text that preceded each chapter. I liked how the actor quotes a famous person and pairs it with a Bible verse. I got to the point where I was attempting to guess what each chapter was about based on the introduction. It was an enjoyable activity for me. This book has become one of my favorites. In my opinion, there was nothing wrong with it. The editing was well done, as I couldn't find any errors in it. I would give it 4 out of 4 stars. This is a book I would recommend to anyone beyond their teenage years. Everyone needs their own version of Man Mission.
