Pandemic, by Dieter Gartelmann, is a fiction book that describes the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. The COVID-19 pandemic is the main focus of the book. It describes how America dealt with various lethal virus strains during a political crisis. The book demonstrates how Republicans and Democrats reacted differently to the pandemic lockdowns. A new president is elected at the same time, and while there are demonstrations against his election, he must attempt to control the spread of infectious strains. Some recent disease strains have short death tolls. The book reveals what occurs behind the scenes as the government makes decisions. With those who disagree with the government, private conversations are occasionally necessary. Additionally, he must deal with groups of protesters who are opposing the lockdowns.
