Review of McDowell
McDowell, by William H. Coles, is the fictional biography of Hiram McDowell. He lived a complicated life, not caring about anyone else’s feelings and only thinking of his pleasures and achievements. What makes us humans is that we are full of flaws. Our mistakes started at the beginning of creation. But what differentiates us from any other humans is our ability to recognize our mistakes and try to change from them.
Hiram McDowell lives with his third wife, Carole, who takes care of his other three kids. He desired the post of president in the International College of Surgeons and took advantage of Michael O’Leary to get the post. He fooled Michael, had several relationships with women outside his home and caused the death of his friend. He was not the type of person most people would like to mingle with, but nature has its principles. One must pay for the consequences of every action he takes. What do you think was Hiram's fate? Read this book to know more.
This book was indeed an interesting read for me. The thing that amazed me most in this book was the unexpected and startling twist in the plot of the book. No one certainly would have expected Hiram's fate to be what it was. While reading this book, I was emotionally unstable. At first, I hated Hiram so much and prayed that he would suffer so much, but at some point, I started to pity him and pray that God gives him a second chance. Finally, I found myself despising all the people who were against Hiram, and I felt guilty for wishing him evil.
There are lots of moral lessons in this book. Although people may be bad or full of scars, we should learn not to take revenge. We should just take legal action and let nature take its course, so we won’t later regret our actions. Don’t do things without thinking about their consequences.
There was absolutely nothing I disliked about this book. This book has stood out as one of the best fiction books on my shelves. I did not see any grammatical errors in this book, which shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. The characters in this book were well-developed. The book was full of humor and emotions; no reader will get bored while reading it.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I did not see any reason to deduct any stars from this book. I recommend this book to adults that love fictional biographies and books that talk about family with little action.
