Two men met at an eatery in law school and became close friends because of their equal mutual love for food. They planned on going on annual vacations, doing outdoorsy things, and eating very strange foods. After some years, all these plans were forgotten. Then, out of the blue, one of them calls the other up and tells him, "Let us go." They made their plans quickly and set off. Man Mission has begun.

Many years passed, and the two founding members were joined by two more friends, one at a time. They now became four, biking, kayaking, and hiking in different parts of the world together. They explored Fiji, South Africa, Vietnam, Iceland, New Zealand, and many other countries on their Odyssey over the course of fifteen years, with each excursion physically challenging and more exciting than the last, as the men all tried to prove their manliness and outdo each other. I liked everything about the book. I found this book interesting, entertaining, and engaging on many levels. I liked how the writer narrated all the events of his life with details of everything that happened on the trips. The reader is being educated on other important occurrences in the lives of the four characters. They all fell in love, got married, navigated careers, and built their families. We see them fail and win; we also see them grow, change, and learn more about each other.

Man Mission is all about living the themes of adventure, friendship, travel, family, marriage, changes, choices, and some philosophical bents that appear in the unique story. I enjoyed the part where the thoughts of the main character turned reflective, and this made him realize many things. I believe men and women can learn from his struggles and the conclusions he drew from such situations. Many words struck me deeply. Some of these thoughts were "friends come and go." People change, everyone will surely die, and not every romance lasts forever.

The author, Eytan Uliel, did a great job describing what men see on their outings, from landscapes to the various cultures of the people they meet. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book is well edited, interesting, funny, and educational.

I recommend this book to lovers of adventure. Anyone who loves traveling and exploring places, and those who love adventure stories, will love this great book. I urge lovers of adventure stories to get a copy of this book.
