How should I summarize Seven at Two Past Five by Tara Basi without giving any spoilers? It is about an old woman who has spent her lifetime making buttons until she is accused of a crime that she wants to appeal. However, the story is not that simple. Everyone that the old woman comes into contact with knows just a piece of the puzzle (or maybe they know nothing), and it is up to her to find out what is really going on in the world. However, although she finds everything to be odd in the world, she decides to just shrug it off and put all of her focus into her appeal.

My favorite aspect of Seven at Two Past Five is the fact that I really did not know what was going on until the very end. It was beautifully confusing and strange with a touch of some weird humor. I also liked that Basi did not take too long with introducing the characters and scenery, so the readers get to just jump right into the story. I really enjoyed reading it and did not struggle to get through any parts of the story. In fact, I found myself getting lost in it, and the whole time I was reading, I could not help but feel like I had fallen into Wonderland when Alice was being ridiculously convicted for painting the roses red.

There is really nothing that I did not like about the book. There were a few characters that I found myself hating but only because they were terrible and annoying people. I think the worst characters were the ones in the courts. At times, it would trigger me because I have been in that situation where a judge was not fair and treated me like I was the worst person in the world, but it did not make me want to stop reading.

I rate this book 5 out of 5. There is truly nothing bad about it. The story is unique; the characters are interesting; and it seemed to be professionally edited, as I did not see any typos or misspellings.

Seven at Two Past Five by Tara Basi would be good reading for those who have at least a little bit of knowledge of the Bible, regardless if you are a believer in God or not, although I feel as though Christians may get offended. Conspiracy theorists would probably really enjoy this too.
