Review of Man Mission
Have you ever wondered what really makes a man? Is it money and financial stability? Wavy muscles and a full beard? The truth is that the answer is much more complicated than some people might expect. Hence the need for novels like this one, written by Eytan Uliel.
Eytan Uliel's Man Mission is the story of how four college friends grew up together from kids to real men. After graduating from college and starting new jobs and forming new relationships, they also create a ritual in which, once a year, they leave their comfortable homes and families to engage in a test of physical strength, fitness, and endurance. Prompted by the need to lose extra pounds gained from sitting daily in office chairs and the desire to have unrestricted fun by being recklessly adventurous under the guise of bravery, they continue to stick to their new ritual, and overtime, it becomes more than just an annual exercise; it also becomes a time of bonding as men, a space to breathe and take a break from the complexities of everyday life, but most importantly, it becomes the time in which they could find quiet and manly solace in their friendship, which probably wouldn't happen when they returned to their families.
Reading Man Mission was incredible. It started off to be very funny and on a light note with seemingly effortless humor from the author, but gradually, tones of seriousness and melancholy began to set in as time passed by for the lead characters. They went on to build their lives as the men they ought to be; they faced many plights and struggled with many circumstances. This novel shows us a vast perspective of modern manhood through the views of four young men who are struggling to fit into the roles society has placed for them. This novel had no errors; it was exceptionally well edited, and the reading experience was very enjoyable. I believe that it's something anyone can look forward to.
I enjoyed this book so much that I have nothing to point out as a negative aspect. It is an incredible book to read, and I hope that those who read it can enjoy it as much as I did.
In my opinion, this book deserves a 5 out of 5 star rating. It is a wonderful, fun, and equally enlightening book. I hope that those who consider reading this book have as much fun reading it as I do.
I would recommend this book to a mature audience because of the nature of the language and the slightly graphic nature of the sexual content. I believe it is ideal for young men and women. The women, I believe, will find it really intriguing, while the men will most likely find a lot more to relate to in the content of this book. Also, I think couples could read together or on their own and have a lot to feed on with respect to relationships and marriage.
