Review of Man Mission
Eytan Uliel is the author of the action-packed fictitious book Man Mission. The themes of friendship, adolescence, adulthood, camaraderie, family, and adventure are explored throughout the book. It illustrates how growing up and assuming responsibilities may leave one yearning for simpler times. It demonstrates how the need for adventure, exposure, and independence may persist even when one has landed their desired career and is successful. It inspires a desire to discover new locations, experience cuisine from around the world, and partake in a variety of outdoor sports, including climbing, riding, and kayaking.
The story revolves around four closest friends who experience growing up, beginning to work, finding partners, starting their own families, and dealing with the responsibilities that come with being a man. They start a custom ritual because of their desire for adventure while everything else is still happening around them. They gather once a year to carry out this ritual, which lasts for a week and gives them the chance to break away from their normal lives and catch up on each other's activities.
They travel the globe for one and a half decades, engaging in extreme and bizarre activities, creating absurd rules, and exchanging suggestions on how to maintain the happiness of their families. They run into many real-world challenges while on their quest, learning bittersweet life lessons along the way. Will they come back with new insights into what it means to be a man? What do you believe their partners' perspectives on these vacations are, too?
I liked how the book depicted their relationship and friendship. The idea of making the book into a travel journal appeals to me. I was so excited after reading the book that I wanted to travel, sample new foods, and discover more about various countries and traditions. The narrative is credible and easy to relate to. The situation is pretty easy to imagine because of the author's vivid description. The book was enjoyable to read because the narrator also had a nice sense of humour. The novel is clear and concise, highlighting the friendship these men have despite the various challenges they face in life.
I didn't like the book's tendency toward predictability or the omission of the narrator's name from any mentions during the narrative. Apart from that, the book was excellent.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.. It was an amazing experience, and I would love to read it over and over again. The book was professionally edited and error-free. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys exploring new places and travelling.
