Sometimes people just want to be daring, to feel that fear is not a factor, to feel in charge of their lives and their safety, to be a man. Man Mission, written by Eytan Uliel, revolves around four friends who feel this way: friends who want to revel in adventures without considering if they're safe or not.

Told in first person, the narrator talks about how he meets three men, and they eventually become good friends, agreeing to meet every year and go on vacations, which they call "man missions." On those vacations, they would go hiking, biking, kayaking, and engaging in all other fun but risky missions, bruising themselves and obtaining cool scars.

The very first thing I loved about the book was the way four total strangers were able to become friends and build a committed relationship. For 15 consecutive years, they were able to go on manly missions together, all four of them. Although one of them might bail due to one reason or another, it didn't mean that they didn't acknowledge the trip; it just means that they got personal problems and couldn't make it that year. There were 15 trips in the book, and most times all four men made it. That reminds me of the true importance of friendship; you see, this book made me understand that it’s not just about doing things together but about making memories together. That’s what friendship is all about. The author didn’t just tell a story about four men going on vacation and doing all that boy stuff. He also wrapped the story around their personal lives and the challenges they had this year. We got to see their struggles while building a family, and without their personal lives involved in the story, this book would just be filled with vacations and adrenaline junkies.

This story was told very well; I cannot imagine it any other way. I didn’t find anything to dislike about this book. The author did a really great job, and I would look forward to reading another one of his books.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The story was told in a good way, and it had humor and some tragedy; the switch in mood back and forth was perfect. There are definitely no errors in this book. It was perfectly edited. I would recommend this book for adrenaline junkies who would love to revel in adventure. I am also recommending this book for those who value a good and long-term friendship.

Honestly I also loved how their wives/fiancé let them have their fun but also reprimanded when they were being idiots.
