[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Raven Warriors" by LC Lee.]

Raven Warriors is a fictional adventure tale by LC Lee set in the 1600s. The story revolves around the life of János, a member of the "Raven Warriors," a war calvary. He was a very fierce warrior, but he believed in the love of family. One time on the battlefield, he sustains a life-threatening injury, and a healer, Isabel, nurses him back to health. On seeing her daughter, Klara, János falls in love and proposes marriage. They get married after a short period of courtship, and he settles in his village, Szarvaskö, with his new wife and her mother. Soon, Klara becomes pregnant and bears him a son, Milklós.

János is called off to war regularly, and Klara prays each time for his safe return. On one of these occasions, he returns and finds his village deserted and his son half-dead. The Turks had raided his village and captured his wife and the twins, which he had rescued from their father earlier. Along with István, János trudges along to find his family. Will he find them in one piece? Also happening around that time is Tadeas' issue. He had been stripped of his position as a Hussar due to an accusation of sharing information with the enemy due to his relationship with a Tatar woman. What became of him afterwards? The details of this summary are encompassed in the pages of this book.

This book, Raven Warriors, was quite a read. It engrossed me from the beginning to the end. The descriptions of life in the 1600s were something I enjoyed; they depicted just how simply people lived in those days. I admired János' decision-making rationality and his love for his wife and family, which was evident in how he always hurried home after battle. Another character I liked was Kazella, although she was not discussed much. I liked that she was present as a healer for the Ravens; whenever someone was being escorted to her, I wished a description of the healing process would be reported, but it wasn't. It was not a problem, though.

The story flowed accordingly. The plot appeared complex but was very simply woven around different characters at different points in time. Sometimes we got János' side (mostly); other times, Tadeas or Milklós were discussed. The dialogue was simple and would not pose a problem to anyone reading the book. Another thing worthy of commendation was the beautiful editing carried out on this book. I did not encounter a single error, leading me to believe this book was exceptionally well-edited.

I garnered quite a few on the issue of dislikes while reading this book. The first would be the simplistic nature of this story; it is easy to say that this book lacked an actual climax. Books always have a main action they always lead to; for a book with an interesting title and a beautiful cover like this, I was disappointed. I witnessed a cut-and-join of different stories happening initially, not leading to any particular main action. The next was the boring descriptions given during the war; they were so long and would not elicit a grasping notion in the reader. These issues hindered my enjoyment of the story, and I did not know where the story was heading anymore; I just followed.

For these issues highlighted in the above paragraph concerning the lack of climax and uninteresting scenes, Raven Warriors by LC Lee receives a rating of 3 out of 5 stars from me. I recommend this book to audiences interested in tales of adventure, war, and historical fiction.

Janos, a member of the Raven warriors is an interesting character I woul love to read about. I love how life in the 16th century was described. Nice review.

It will be really defeating for Janos to have seen the family he loves missing. I would love to read about the action that followed afterwards and how he handled the situation.

I do need to read this book. The suspense is something else. I enjoyed reading the review. The simple words kept me glued until I was done reading. Amazing work.

Janos looks like an interesting character. I'm already sad because of what happened to him. I hope he gets his revenge on the people that destroyed his village.

This book is a frictional tale about a warrior, seeing the warrior and the horse on the cover too would have raised my expectations, thanks for telling us your disappointments too.
